FCDS (1 of 2)

This page is selectable from the Simulator Control tab suite and provides controls and information for the Flight Crew Debrief System.

The Flight Crew Debrief System (FCDS) offers the facility to record flight data for an entire training session to an off-board Data Acquisition Computer (DAC). The instructor and crew can view the recorded flight data from a machine located in a debrief room away from the simulator. The standard FCDS data comprises a video and audio capture of the training session, whilst the optional enhanced version of FCDS also provides repeat displays of some primary aircraft instruments.

A FCDS recording is called a Session and a Session is recorded to a Slot. The slot number is automatically allocated by the system.

Status This indicates the status of the DAC recording application which can be one of the following states:
  • Failed - The DAC recording application is not responding, check that the application is running.
  • Standby - System is available for recording.
  • Creating Session - The request for a new session is being processed.
  • Cancelling Session - User has requested to cancel the new session.
  • Ready - The new session has been created and the system is waiting for the command to start recording.
  • Recording - The system is currently recording.
  • Stopping Recording - The command to stop recording is being processed.
