This page is selectable from the Simulator Control tab suite and provides controls and information for the Flight Crew Debrief System.
The Flight Crew Debrief System (FCDS) offers the facility to record flight data for an entire training session to an off-board Data Acquisition Computer (DAC). The instructor and crew can view the recorded flight data from a machine located in a debrief room away from the simulator. The standard FCDS data comprises a video and audio capture of the training session, whilst the optional enhanced version of FCDS also provides repeat displays of some primary aircraft instruments.
A FCDS recording is called a Session and a Session is recorded to a Slot. The slot number is automatically allocated by the system.
Status | This indicates the status of the DAC recording application which can be one of the following states:
|
Session Slot | Denotes the slot number being used for the recording |
Password | Displays the entered password for the session; this will be required to replay the session. |
Time Started | Indicates the time at which the recording started. |
Elapsed Time | The amount of elapsed time since the start of the recording. |
Maximum Time | The total amount of time available for the recording session. |
Create Session | Request a new session, at which point the system prompts the user to define the password for the session (selectable only when status reads STANDBY). |
Start Recording | Starts the recording of the session (selectable only when status reads READY). |
Pause Recording | Pauses the current recording (selectable only when status reads RECORDING). |
Stop Recording | Ends the current recording and saves session data (selectable only when status reads RECORDING). |
Cancel Session | Cancels the recording session (selectable only when status reads READY). |
The system allows the insertion of event markers during the recording of a session. These markers appear at the specified points in the recording during the replay of the session and allow you to jump directly to the time at which the event marker was inserted. The FCDS Event Marker Class 1 button is also directly available from the Direct Actions Area.
