The parameters being plotted and the underlying envelopes reflect the current aircraft configuration (Flaps position).
Plots Angle of Attack (alpha) vs Sideslip angle (Beta). Three underlying envelopes are shown that indicate where the source data for the simulator aerodynamic model has come from, this indicating to the instrucor the level of confidence that the simulator is behaving like the aircraft:
The colour of the plot line reflects the envelope that the plot point is in.
The source of the data is described in the QTG Statement of Compliance, and is provided by the Airframe Manufacturer
